IDEY KOKO is a limited-run label, handcrafted and stitched by a collective of seamstresses and tailors in Accra, Ghana.
As our products are handcrafted, slight variations in make, size and finish are to be expected. We think this is dope as your purchase is guaranteed to be unique and one-of- a-kind.
To hear more about the collective check out our MEET THE MAKERS page and get to know the faces behind your purchase.
IDEY KOKO is made from 100% cotton African Print fabric.
We support the informal economy in Ghana by purchasing our fabrics from local street fabric vendors rather than purchasing wholesale.
We support the Made in Ghana government initiative with around 90 per cent of the fabrics that we purchase manufactured in Ghana with the rest coming from abroad.
The fabric has been printed using a wax resist dyeing method, either by hand or machine, which means slight imperfections can occur during the printing process.
Each year there is a complete turnover in the African Print fabric patterns and colour combinations available in the market. Some prints commemorate events, culture and art references and have an even shorter shelf life.
This only means that once a collection is dropped it is unlikely you will see those designs in the same fabric again. So don’t suffer fomo and SHOP the collection now.
